Plant Nutrition
There are many products and management practices that contribute to the gradual decline in soil health and sustainability, one of the most significant is the addition of chemical fertilizers. All common fertilizers are in fact 'salts' of some description and their regular addition increases the detrimental impact on beneficial soil organisms.
We should also note that manures can also contain heavy salt loads, and we would suggest that a current analysis should always be viewed before adding these to your soil. Of course fertilizers are necessary, but we would suggest that by improving the biological status of the soil, over time you will need to add less of them, and thus reduce their negative effects.
In the meantime we have developed a range of organically based and biologically activated fertilizers that can provide adequate levels of plant nutrition, whilst being less injurious to the soil ecology.

Soilsafe MEND
MEND is a unique product with a number of distinctive properties, it employs a newly developed Humic Acid based technology to achieve a Slow Release coating on the Nitrogen component of the product, releasing over a 10 – 12 week period, and more ‘soil friendly’ than other coated Urea products. MEND also contains a significant quantity of Silica to build plant cell strength and to assist with Calcium uptake, and disease resistance and also has a significant quantity of stable Organic Carbon to encourage and promote biological growth and CEC improvement in the soil.
Most importantly MEND contains a naturally diverse array of beneficial soil microbes, having been activated by the inclusion of GranoVerm. The beneficial soil organisms contained in MEND have been identified and selected for their ability to provide ongoing protection to the plant from pathogenic organisms, thus reducing the impact of disease.
The natural rock minerals contained in MEND impart a long term nutrient supply to the soil, and help reduce the volume of inorganic fertilizers that may be needed, reducing the salting effect that chemical fertilizers induce, and minimising the potential damage to the soil ecology.
Application Rates:
Turfgrass applications:
Mend is an ideal inclusion at renovation and should be applied at 15kg – 20kg/100m2 depending on soil conditions, and incorporate into the profile.
General landscape use (trees, shrubs, garden areas, including natives):
Apply 1.5kg – 2.5kg/10m2) and incorporate into the profile.
Agricultural/Horticultural crops:
Apply 300kg - 500kg per hectare depending on soil conditions, and incorporate into the soil.

Soilsafe Activated P
Soilsafe Activated P is a Cadmium free colloidal soft rock Phosphate;it provides a long term source of Phosphorous, Calcium, Silica and a range of trace elements. In contrast to manufactured Phosphate fertilizers, a colloidal Calcium Phosphate will not lock up and become unavailable. Soft Rock Phosphate does not contain soluble Phosphorous, so Phosphorous is made available by soil biology; it can also be made available via the action of soil acidity and will be broken down more quickly in acid soils.
Phosphorous is an extremely important element which is needed at the growing tips of plant shoots and roots, it is extremely important to have adequate levels available for young, actively growing plants or to aid in the recovery following renovation or periods of stress.
Phosphorous, Calcium and Silica are deficient in many soils and this can cause severe problems at times of stress. Calcium & Silica work together to build cell strength within the plant, making it tougher and more disease resistant. Phosphorus on the other hand is easily locked up in most soils, especially those of very high or very low pH.
Soilsafe Activated P provides for a continual supply of available Phosphorous, which is important to note because traditional methods of side-dressing or fertigation with Phosphorus fertilizers at times of stress are normally too slow to generate a response. Even the highly water-soluble forms have a very low rate of availability. Effective foliar Phosphorus products are not common, however if Phosphorous is deficient the use of OC KP should be considered.
The natural rock minerals contained in Soilsafe Activated P impart a long term nutrient supply to the soil, they will help reduce the volume of inorganic fertilizers that may be needed, reducing the salting effect that chemical fertilizers have, and minimising the potential damage to the soil ecology.
Application Rates:
Turfgrass uses:
Apply 10kg – 15kg/100m2depending on soil conditions, and incorporate into the profile.

Organically Chelated Trace Elements
The OC Range of Trace Elements is a new concept in plant nutrition. Unlike traditional chelates which have their origins in medical research, the OC Range has been specially formulated for use in plant systems. They use an array of organic chelating and complexing agents in order to ensure a safer, more effective uptake and translocation of nutrients within the plant.
A number of different chelating agents are used in the formulation of the OC Range including organic acids, amines, amides, as well as organic fermentation by-products. This unique process increases the availability, efficiency andsuitability of the products, and reduces plant selectivity which occurs with traditional chelated nutrients.
The OC Range has very high mineral concentration, on average, up to 50% more than similar products. As a result of their high analysis and more effective uptake, the OC Range pf products perform at very low application rates making themvery cost effective.
Size: Due to the unique Organic chelation method the OC Range of products have a very small molecular size (approx 5% the size of an EDTA chelate for example), which facilitates and improves plant uptake.
Bio-availability: Plants don’t have to convert or change the nutrients to other chemical forms. This not only helps reduce the demand for energy, but also quickens the response to their application.
